CincItalia: A Slice of Italy in the heart of Cheviot

Now in it's 10th year, CincItalia will take place at Harvest Home Park located in the heart of Cheviot. Over the last decade, CincItalia has changed and grown exponentially, going from a small parish festival in the parking lot of the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and School in to a much larger community celebration of Italian culture and heritage taking place over three days, from May 31 to June 2 this year. The festival includes various special events, food, music, shopping, and more. CincItalia is produced along with community partners San Antonio Church in South Fairmont, the United Italian Society, and La Societa Fuscaldese Femminile; all of whom benefit in part from the proceeds.

To kick off the festival, make plans to attend the adults only (19+) 'Carnevale' celebration beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 31, featuring live music from The Rusty Griswolds. Book the babysitter and take advantage of the kid-free festival night and eat all the cannoli and pasta and pizza you want without having to share with your little ones. There are also classic adult festival games and raffles. Take your chances and you could win up to $10,000, lawn care equipment from STIHL, gift certificates, and more.

Saturdays and Sundays are for the whole family. Bring the kids to CincItalia from 3:00 pm to midnight on Saturday and 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday to enjoy the rides and play fun classic carnival games such as lollipop pull and goldfish toss. Do not forget to have their face painted by one of the talented face painting artists.

Live music and entertainment continues on the Stealla Artois main stage throughout the weekend with Ray Massa's EuroRhythms on Saturday, and then the Pete Wagner Band and Elio Scaccio on Sunday. The CincItalia dancers will delight you with traditional Italian dancing throughout various times during the weekend. On the demonstration stage you will find cooking demonstrations throughout the day, along with wine appreciation with Henke Winery, the History of CincItalians with Gerardo Perrotta, the Cincitalia Beard and Mustache Contest with the Cincinnati Beard Barons, and new this year test your knowledge in Italian Trivia.

Let us not forget the food! A delicious assortment of treats are waiting for you; enjoy classic dishes such as pizza, lasagna, and sausage and peppers as well as new Piadini sandwiches from DiChelli's Italian Cafe. Participating restaurants and organizations include LaRosa's Pizza, the United Italian Society, the CincItalia Pasta Booth, Wine and Dessert Booth, and Grill, Gregorio's Family Bistro, San Antonio Italian Church, Corbo's, Madisono's Gelato, and La Societa Fuscaldese Femminile.
